Franziska is a maverick entrepreneur, leading marketing and brand strategist, mad adventurer, author and the co-founder of Basic Bananas, Oceanlovers, Moments of Humanity and The Data People.

In 2013 Franziska was awarded the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award recognizing her innovation, creativity and philanthropic involvement. Franziska is also a board member at the Entrepreneurs Organization and on the judging panel for Singularity University Australia.

A true visionary and eternal optimist, no challenge seems to be too big for Franziska. She is known for her rebellious nature and doing things differently. She has this rare combination of being both creative and strategic, which makes her a powerful leader in the business world.

A Swiss born Australian (or Swaussie) with a sharp-witted humour and the ability to speak five languages, she is known to make up words, which keeps everyone amused.

The key to Franziska’s success is her down-to-earth attitude, infectious energy, integrity and courage to take the lead. She is an idea generation machine and her brain seems to often work on double-speed.

Franziska is a big believer in social business and is heavily involved in various ocean conservation and sustainability projects. She has also run think tanks at the United Nations to address UN’s sustainable development goals through entrepreneurship.

From living in Costa Rica with a local family at age sixteen, studying music at the Swiss Jazz School during high school, to working in a windsurfing school in Egypt, writing papers at the Swiss embassy in South Africa at twenty-two, surfing some of the most remote surf breaks to riding a motorcycle around the world, Franziska has travelled to over one hundred countries and counting.

In her spare time Franziska loves going on mad adventures, spending time in the ocean, surfing, riding around the world on her motorbike, playing music with her band Salty Lips, learning new things, writing, meaningful discussions and spending time with family and friends.
